Where are these people now, and what are they like? History always draws our gaze and thoughts to the past. 1970. It's 2024, and the past seems to have vanished, even in memory it's something formless, like fragments of a film strip with different excerpts. The future is illusory, only the end is clear. We live one day at a time. Filming, we helplessly try to stop time within ourselves. Perhaps that's the whole story.
Almost my age, maybe 5 years older. The boy graduated from high school, went to a milling technical school, served his military service, returned to the factory, married Lyusya from the building next door, worked as a foreman for 20 years, then as a shop foreman for another 20, received a diploma, a challenge pennant, the title of veteran, and third-degree rheumatism, an honored pensioner of the province, and is invited to the school every year on May 9th to speak to the Young Army members. It's even easier with the girl: she graduated from the Pedagogical Institute, worked as a teacher at the same school for 40 years, had two heart attacks and three strokes, her husband is an alcoholic, her son is a parasite and a drug addict, and she has no grandchildren.
