I remembered a line from a fairy tale: "That's the end of the story, and whoever listened is a good fellow")))

It's a beautiful corner, but 90% of the credit here, both in the color and even in the arrangement of these details, goes to the architect. The photographer could have added highlights and shadows, but none were present at the time.
It's a pretty picture, but that's more because the "model" did the work.

Marina Glebova,

Marina, what's the point of the post?) If the designer deserves credit here and you recommended his work,
then why? It's a photography website.
)
If you recommended a photograph, then you definitely understand (and I'm sure you understand that I understand) why I shot it this way (frontally, flatly lit).
I have options with the street, with perspective, etc. But in the version presented, I didn't need bright highlights and shadows (that's your mantra).
This is a decorative object, essentially a "fresco." Hence the name - "screensaver."
I practically never shoot such things from this angle. But sometimes the subject stops me.

Yakov Trembovolsky,
If I haven't said anything meaningful, then I may not say anything else in the future...
And I didn't write about bright light and shadows either. What I meant was that the photographer's work could have been some elements "grabbed" onto the finished architectural composition, not necessarily shadows, but an object in front of the wall, incorporated into the composition.
By the way, I addressed this post not only to you but also to myself - I've photographed dozens of antique windows, walls, textures, historic door handles, even with shadows.

And I really love these photos, but recently I've been unsure whether I should show them on a photography website.

If I haven't said anything meaningful, then I don't have to say anything else in the future...
Marina Glebova,

Marina, I didn't say there was no meaning)), but I asked what the "meaning" of the post was?
You stated the obvious, but you drew an unclear conclusion.

I shouldn't have posted the work because, in your opinion, the "model" is too good,
and the photographer's work isn't obvious enough? ))
I usually don't photograph walls, windows, textures, etc. But here, it seemed to me, there was a shot.
You recommended the work with the note that it was 90% a recommendation from the "model."
It's still my shot. )))

alexnik, unexpectedly, it seemed to me that you simply couldn't fall for these fairy tales
